Spencer's Story

I joined MHW in April 2013 when I became a Health Educator for the program. I had lost 40 pounds on my own before I ever heard about MHW and I wanted to share my knowledge with other people who were struggling like I did. I tried every diet, exercise plan, and infomercial gadget before I found something that worked for me so I figured that I would be able to help others avoid the challenges that I did.

I found out, when I started to study the program more closely, that there was still a lot that I didn’t understand about weight-loss. I think everyone knows the basics (eat more vegetables, do more exercise, and cut out the junk), but there’s so much more to it. In particular, the idea of “More is Better”, and that those who ate more food lost more weight, was very foreign to me, so I really had to see it with my own eyes.

As I saw person after person succeed in losing their weight, I became more and more impressed. I saw someone lose 100 pounds in 6 months! I saw someone walk in one day, without needing their wheelchair! I saw countless individuals come off of their diabetes medicines! I was inspired.

I put myself on the program and lost another 20 pounds, bringing my total up to 60. If I had to pinpoint the best aspects of the program, I would point to the group coaching, the positive mentality, and the simple plan. This is a program where you focus on what you CAN do, not what you “aren’t allowed” to eat. It’s a plan that’s designed to help you figure out what is going to make you happy in the long-term, and to then to help you practice until you get there.

I would recommend this program to anyone. I believe so much in the work that we do here that when the previous owner decided to retire in 2018, I offered to take over the program, personally. If you have any hesitations at all, just give it a try. The results will speak for themselves.
